By the very nature of their operations, Airfield Operators or Owners are exposed to a financial liability in the event of injury or damage caused through their negligence of faulty operations. It is impossible to emunerate or even visualise all the potential liabilities but the following examples are perhaps the more obvious case.

Loss or damage caused through:-

inadequate maintenance of the Airfield Surface

failure to mark adequately obstructions in or around the Airfield

faulty signals or inaccurate meteorological or directional information to the Aircraft

inadequate protection to the Public

Whatever liability there may be in law there are bound to be legal costs incurred in defending such claims.

The liability of any Owner or Operator must of course vary according to the scope of their operations and in order to correctly visualise the liabilities involved the Proposal Form attached must be completed, when as moderate a premium as possible commensurate with the risk involved will be quoted.

The Policy that will be issued is on wide and comprehensive conditions and is based ion the information contained in this Proposal Form.

2) Number of years you have operated at site?

3) Do you operate the Airfield or act as Owner only?
If neither, what is your exact interest in the Airfield?

4) Are you responsible for Maintaining the Airfield?

5) Situation of Airfield – state dimensions of Airfield and give full particulars of all Runways (please use a separate sheet if necessary to show all this information)

6) Are movements of all Aircraft controlled?
If so, by whom?

7) Are you responsible for Direction Control of Aircraft in the air or on the ground?
If yes, please provide details with estimated annual movements.

8) Do you Service, Maintain or Repair Aircraft?
Please give estimated receipts.

9) Type of work carried out?

10) Do you provide any form of Catering Service?
If so, please give full details and an estimate of receipts therefrom.

11) Do you provide any form of Accommodation?
If so, please give full details of facilities provided including the number of bedrooms.

12) Is Car Parking Spaces provided and if so is a charge made?

13) Is the Airfield licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and are there any special provisions made with regard to its operation?

14) Please give full details of all security in operation:-

a) at your own premises

b) within the confines of the airfield

15) Are the public admitted as sightseers?
If so, are they at liberty to wander at will over the airfield or within the near vacinity of aircraft movement?

16) Will Flying Displays of any kind be given on the Airfield?

17) Do you receive Remuneration Hangarage to Aircraft not owned by you?

18) Type of Aircraft in your Care, Custody and Control

19) Number of Tie Down Spaces

20) What is the maximum value, any one Aircraft, in your Care, Custody and Control?

21) What is the average value of Aircraft in your Care, Custody and Control?

22) What is the maximum number of aircraft in your Care, Custody and Control at any one time?

23) What is the maximum total accumulated value of Aircraft in your Care, Custody and Control at any one time?

24) Please give estimated Revenue for Hangarage

25) Please detail any claims or incidents that could have resulted in a claim in the last five years

26) Number of Employees

27) Number of Vehicles Airside

28) Any other information
